World-conquering Scots Franz Ferdinand have eschewed arenas recently to play small-scale club shows, but this weekend will be an exception. The band has been announced as a last-minute addition to the Park Stage at Glastonbury tonight.

We’ve always thought they had the NFL look. The Glasto ‘surprise’ performance is between John Cale and Dizzee Rascal, “which is pretty much where I think we stand musically” says drummer Paul Thomson on the band’s blog. Consider us jealous.
