With her debut album one of 2008’s most talked-up releases, indie sensation Santogold has been hand-picked to warm the stage for Coldplay on part of their US arena tour.
The somewhat unexpected team-up could prove to be a stroke of genius, and no doubt earn Santogold a whole new legion of admirers. It has been reported that the invite was extended by Chris Martin himself, which goes to show the man has taste. The support slots neatly coincide with Santogold’s already-extensive tour commitments. Over the next few months, she’s set to roll up for Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Rock The Bells, Summer Sonic, Bestival…you get the picture.
