Pritchard's cheap Monkeys dig
Thu 19th Jun, 2008 in International News
Never one to pass up an opportunity to have a dig at his – œrivals’ the Arctic Monkeys, Kooks mouthpiece Luke Pritchard has claimed this week that his band will succeed in America where Alex Turner and co. haven’t.
Pritchard told UK tabloid and regular ally The Sun that the Kooks’ second album, Konk, has been well-received on the US charts. The man’s so confident he’s even bought an apartment in New York. “It’s really going great over there. Radio is really picking up on the album,” he revealed. “Arctic Monkeys have just died over there. They were huge for their first album but it hasn’t happened with the second one.” It seems a boot to the face wasn’t enough…
The Kooks are touring Australia for the first time in August. Requests for Arctic Monkeys covers not encouraged.
