At their Wembley Stadium concert over the weekend, the Foo Fighters pulled a rather elaborate card out of its sleeve: an encore featuring members of Led Zeppelin.

Frontman Dave Grohl dropped numerous hints throughout the show that the iconic rockers would be making a surprise appearance. “We’re gonna do something we’ve never done at a Foo Fighters show and it’s gonna blow your shit out the door!” he announced. “Tonight this is gonna be the show that we’re gonna be talking about for the next 20 years!” Sure enough, come encore time, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page strolled onstage (vocalist Robert Plant is touring the US, pity).

Grohl took over drums for a rendition of Rock and Roll, with Foos stick-man Taylor Hawkins on lead vocals. Then Grohl returned to the mic to lead Ramble On, leaving him one very fulfilled Foo Fighter. “Welcome to the greatest fucking day of my life!” he gushed as Jones and Page left the stage. We’re sure much of the 86,000-strong crowd felt the same way.

Here’s Grohl introducing his very special guests to the stage.
