In keeping with the recent trend of shotgun releases, our favourite oddball Beck is unveiling his album in “four to six weeks”, having only recently completed it.
Bucking the standard three month lead-in is becoming the ‘New Thing’. Everyone from The Saboteurs to Gnarls Barkley to Nine Inch Nails have dropped albums with little to no forewarning. Beck’s as-yet-untitled album is a collaborative effort with chameleon producer Danger Mouse, and will most likely be released through Universal Music.
The 10-song LP is also rumoured to be only 30 minutes long, and may feature a guest appearance from Cat Power. To add to the smoke and mirrors, the release could arrive in stores…at any moment. Be ready!
