Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the best British Live Act of them all? Is it the intergalactic stadium conquerers Muse? The punchy, rollicking Arctic Monkeys? No, fool, it’s Take That of course!
The Brit Awards came and went last night, with the unequivocal highlight a five-song medley from Sir Paul McCartney. There was also a semi-surprise cameo from Amy Winehouse, who joined Mark Ronson on stage for a razzle-dazzle performance. In the necessary business of handing out statuettes, Arctic Monkeys picked up British Album and British Group, while Foo Fighters took out the International equivalents.
There was, of course, the curious honour bestowed on Take That as Best British Live Act, trouncing Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and Klaxons. But that’s why we love the Brits, right? Right?
Here’s the full list of those who went home happy.
