Led Zep world tour likely -but not yet
Wed 30th Jan, 2008 in International News
Following their much-vaunted one-off show at the 02 Arena last December, you can’t go far without stumbling over a Led Zeppelin tour rumour. Now guitar legend Jimmy Page has told a press conference in Japan that yes, they’d like to do a world circuit – but not yet.
After giving all gathered a little hope for the future, Page added, ”[Singer] Robert Plant also has a parallel project running, and he’s really busy with that project, certainly until September, so I can’t give you any news.”
That parallel project is Plant’s latest solo album, Raising Sand, and its attendant tour round Europe and the USA.
Page added that it took the effort of a world tour to stage the 02 Arena gig – and all reports indicate it was well worth it.
With no Led Zeppelin tour on the immediate horizon, it may be a lean year for scalpers.
