Actor Heath Ledger Found DeadIn NYC

A New York Police Department spokesman says the actor Heath Ledger has been found dead at his downtown Manhattan residence this morning.

Ledger’s body was discovered by his housekeeper at 3:30pm (NYC time) when she went to his room to notify him him that his masseuse had arrived for a shceduled appointment.

Whilst information surrounding Ledger’s death is still sketchy, the police are reporting no criminal activity at the scene. Although NBC TV has reported that Ledger was surrounded by pills when his body was discovered.

Recently receiving critical acclaim for his appearance as Bob Dylan in the bio pic I’m Not Here, Ledger is appearing in the next installment of the Batman movie playing the Joker opposite Christian Bale and was in the midst of filming The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus.

The Academy Award nominated actor, Ledger, had recently separated from his wife, actress Michelle Williams. The couple have one daughter, Matilda.

Ledger was 28.
