The writers’ strike has ensured Hollywood is a pretty sombre town right now. With the Golden Globes downsized to a press conference, it seems the Grammy Awards are under scrutiny too. Several musicians have threatened to boycott the ceremony in solidarity with the striking scribes.

The White Stripes, Jon Bon Jovi, Prince, 50 Cent, Beyonce, Usher, Fergie and Justin Timberlake are amongst those considering to opt out of the awards. Despite that heavy possibility, Grammy head Neil Portnow issued a statement saying the music industry and the writers are working for the same result. He reiterates that the awards will take place as planned on 10 February in Los Angeles.

However, no word has been offered on whether the ceremony will be a little low on star-wattage.
