Mercury Prize winner PJ Harvey is coming to Australia for headline shows in February, but first she’s set to begin work on a new album.
The songwriter won widespread praise for last year’s White Chalk, with Mojo Magazine calling it “a brave and brilliant refocusing of her energies”. In late January those energies are going back in the studio to record album number nine, alongside regular production partner John Parish.
An announcement on Harvey’s MySpace confirms the duo will “commence work on a collaborative album, a follow-up to their 1996 collaboration on Dance Hall at Louse Point.”
The album is due to be released later in 2008.
