Manic Street Preachers reach -œGodlike Genius' status

Following in the hallowed footsteps of names like New Order, The Clash and Primal Scream, Welsh rock royalty Manic Street Preachers are set to receive NME’s – œGodlike Genius’ award in 2008.

After receiving their honour at the Shockwaves NME Awards, the band head a huge bill at the 02 Arena in London. Preceding The Manics on stage will be the not-very-shabby line-up of Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Klaxons and The Cribs. It all happens 28 February, if you’re lucky enough to be in town.
