Dan Fogelberg loses his battlewith cancer

Singer songwriter Dan Fogelberg has lost his three year battle with cancer. Fogerlberg was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2004 and initially went into remission after receiving treatment. The remission however was short lived, with Fogelberg passing away this morning.
The following statement was released on Fogelberg’s website ( www.danfogelberg.com ) :
“Dan left us this morning at 6:00 am . He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side. His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him”.
Fogelberg was first discovered in 1971 at just 20 years of age by music industry guru Irving Azzoff. His breakthrough album, Phoenix was released in 1979 and spawned the global hit, Longer.
