After she slurred and cursed through the first gig on her UK tour, expectations couldn’t have been high for Amy Winehouse’s remaining national dates. Sure enough, she’s angered fans again with a less-than-competent performance at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
The embattled soulstress arrived at the iconic venue 45 minutes late, looking a few tequila shots short of sober. Several crowd members were already booing before she took to the stage, while others had given up waiting and were demanding refunds.
With that kind of reception, it’s unsurprising Winehouse reciprocated with a brattish demeanor, reportedly walking offstage mid-show. She did it again during the encore rendition of Valerie, leaving a backing singer to fill in her vocal parts.
Cutting reviews and audience grievances have circulated the UK press and Winehouse’s own website forums, but the tour continues.
Here’s a short clip taken by a fan at the Hammersmith Apollo show. Where are you going Amy?
