Vocalist Robert Plant has confirmed a rumoured comeback gig from rock titans Led Zeppelin is locked in and will take place later this year.
While details of a one-off gig at London’s O2 Arena have been floating around in recent weeks, band members have stayed silent on the matter until now. Speaking with a fan in London, Plant confirmed he was headed to a band meeting with bassist John Paul Jones and guitarist Jimmy Page.
Jones, Plant, Page and drummer John Bonham formed the band in 1968 after Page’s former band, The Yardbirds, split. They released eight studio albums over a 10-year period, scoring an incredible seven number ones in the UK and six in the US. The band broke up in 1980 after Bonham tragically died after choking on his own vomit. His son Jason will take his place on the stool at the reunion show.
