There’s something about my musical soul mate: he really knows good music. First he played me Antony and the Johnsons. Then he handed over Regina Spektor. And then came Joanna Newsom.

After developing a huge underground following in 2004, following the release of her debut album The Mily Eyed Mender, this melancholic, singing harp player is heading down to Australia for the very first time.

Joining her on this maiden voyage is Bill Callahan, who has developed a cult status, after releasing 13 albums as SMOG, the most recent of which being the revered A River Ain’t Too Much To Love. This is the must-see show for lovers of exquisite song writing.

Catch Joanna Newsom and SMOG on the following dates:
Thursday 6th October – The Globe, Brisbane
Friday 7th October – Byron Bay Community Centre, Byron Bay
Tuesday 11th October -  The Metro Theatre, Sydney
Friday 14th October – The Athenaeum, Melbourne
Saturday 15th October – Theatre Royal, Castlemaine
