Foo Fighters return withhilarious comeback video

Early ‘80s superstar Erik Estrada of CHiPs fame has forced the Foo Fighters to officially end their hiatus and return to the stage to play a two night stand at Mexico City’s Foro Sol stadium in mid-December.

The shows with “invitados especiales” The National will be the first major concerts for Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters since their hiatus at the end of 2012. The band’s hilarious (and badly dubbed) promotional video offers an insight into what the bandmates have been doing with their downtime.

12 months ago Grohl wrote a letter to fans claiming that he wasn’t sure when the Foo Fighters would play again. “It feels strange to say that, but it’s a good thing for all of us to go away for a while,” Grohl wrote. “I never want to NOT be in this band. So, sometimes it’s good to just put it back in the garage for a while.” That hiatus was very short-lived with the band reuniting just months later to begin work on their as-yet-untitled eight studio album.

Speaking with FL to promote the latest release from his alt-country side-project, guitarist Chris Shiflett told Doug Wallen that the new album is going to be “pretty fucking fun”. Shiflett remained fairly tight-lipped about the Foos but did confirm the band weren’t far off hitting the studio. “We haven’t officially started [the record], but we’re getting underway soon,” he told FL in July. Since then Nevermind producer and Garbage founder producer Butch Vig has revealed that he’s been working with the band on a set of “KILLER new songs”.
