Gathering of The Juggalosreturns, Against Me! releasenew music

The 14th annual Gathering of the Juggalos is upon us, Against Me! give fans an (acoustic) taste of their new album and Universal Music want your money.

Whoop Whoop! Juggalos gather ‘round

Are you baffled by the science of magnets? A member of a loosely-organized hybrid gang? Or just like laughing at third-rate rappers wearing face-paint? Well you’ll be pleased to know that Insane Clown Posse have announced the lineup for the 14th annual Gathering of Juggalos. Set to return to Cave-In-Rock, Illinois on August 7, this year’s lineup includes Twiztid, Kottonmouth Kings, Vanilla Ice, Blaze Ya Dead Homie and Rahzel. No word on whether Charlie Sheen will make another guest appearance.

Headlined each year by Insane Clown Posse, the festival – which attracts over 100,000 fans/Juggalos – is described as “not simply a show, a concert, a music festival, or anything of that nature. It is an EXPERIENCE.” If you have a spare 30 minutes, you can watch ICP’s Dope and Violent J — aka “Fats Pepper” and “Guy Gorfey” announce the 100 band strong lineup below. Whoop whoop!

Against Me! release new tunes

Against Me! have released an acoustic EP featuring two stripped-back versions of songs set to appear on the band’s forthcoming album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues. The tracks, ‘FuckMyLife666’ and ‘True Trans Rebel Soul’, are available for free on the band’s website or can be streamed for a limited time on the widget below.

It’s the first material released since bassist Andrew Seward quit the band in May. Upon his departure, singer Laura Jane Grace had indicted that Transgender Dysphoria Blues could be the band’s last album. “I realise that at this point there’s a possibility that it may look pretty ridiculous to carry on playing under the name Against Me!,” she wrote at the time. The band have since drafted in NOFX singer/bassist Fat Mike.

Universal Music wants your money

Universal Music has launched a crowd-funding campaign titled “the Vinyl Project” so they can repress “rare and deleted records.” As Pitchfork reports, the Kickstarter-like initiative will make out-of-print record available on vinyl ifenough people pre-order a copy. Releases being considered for the Vinyl Project include, Sonic Youth’s Goo, Björk’s Biophilia, Pulp’s His N Hers and Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged. You can register your interest here.
