Warped tour lineupannouncement pushed to July

We’ll finally find out who’s on the lineup for Warped festival’s return to Australia on Wednesday, July 10.

That’s the latest news from festival promoter AJ Maddah, who had hoped to drop the big announcement in “some time in mid to late June”.

The Warped announcement may have been pushed back, but Maddah has been very busy touting other tours. Via Soundwave Touring, Maddah has recently confirmed visits from Devin Townsend, Fear Factory, A Day To Remember, All Time Low, Lamb of God, Meshuggah, Bring Me the Horizon, Every Time I Die and more. Paramore’s 2014 tour dates are also expected to be confirmed soon.

Maddah is also preparing to unveil the lineup for one of his other events – Harvest Festival – tomorrow morning. While both Netural Milk Hotel and Eels have already been confirmed for Harvest, there haven’t been any leaks for the Warped lineup.

Taking place in Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide in November, the Warped Tour bill is expected to be stacked with locals, making it distinct from Maddah’s other festival, Soundwave. “Warped is about mayhem & DIY punk rock spirit,” Maddah tweeted. “[While] SW is about delivering a slick & orchestrated day of performances.”

The return of the Vans Warped tour to Australia was announced before Blink-182 took to the stage at Brisbane Soundwave earlier this year. The tour first came to Australian in 1998, with a line-up boasting the likes of Pennywise, Frenzal Rhomb, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Porkers, 311, Blink, The Vandals, The Living End and Bodyjar. Warped last visited Australia in 2002.

Vans Warped tour 2013 Australian dates:

Brisbane: Friday, November 29
Coffs Harbour: Saturday, November 30
Sydney: Sunday, December 1
Canberra: Friday, December, 6
Melbourne: Saturday, December 7
Adelaide: Sunday, December 8
