Dave Grohl reveals Full SoundCity Players lineup

Dave Grohl has revealed all of the guests that will make up his Sound City Players lineup for their debut show at the Sundance Film Festival next week.

Grohl will be playing a show to coincide with the premiere of his new ‘Sound City’ documentary and had already teased a photo with him performing alongside Queens of the Stone Age’s Alain Johannes and Foo Fighters‘ Taylor Hawkins. Now he has announced the full lineup – Fogerty, Greene, Goss, Hawkins, Jaffee, Johannes, Mendel, Nicks, Nielsen, Novoselic, Shiflett, Smear, Springfield, Taylor, Ving, Wilk.

Or to put it another way: Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty; The Jayhawks’ violinist Jessy Greene; Queens of the Stone Age’s Chris Goss and Alain Johannes; Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, Rami Jaffe, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel and Pat Smear; Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks; Cheap Trick‘s Rick Nielsen; Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic; Rick Springfield; Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor; Fear’s Lee Ving; and Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk. Damn, that’s one hell of a band – even if recent Grohl collaborators Soundgarden and Paul McCartney are absent.

The post announcing the “first” show for the Sound City Players on the Foo Fighters Facebook page reveals “And by “first” we mean… well… There just may be a few more surprises w/a few more pals around the world. Wink, wink.”
