With Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor serving as co-hosts for the fourth consecutive year, Kerrang! handed out awards to a lineup of black clad musicians including Soundwave 2012 tourists Black Veil Brides, Machine Head, You Me At Six and Slash.
One of the first acts confirmed for Soundwave 2013, Welsh post-hardcore crew The Blackout, also picked up an award taking home the “The Devotion Award”.
Other winners included “Best British Newcomers” While She Sleeps, the reunited Black Sabbath and My Chemical Romance. Tenacious D won the “Service To Rock” honour with Jack Black and Kyle Gass accepting the award with a promise to service anyone in attendance on request.
