Guns N Roses ban Slash shirtsat gigs

If hearing about Axl Rose and his current collection of cohorts in Guns N Roses taking to the stage over an hour late (a stunt that turned out to be planned in advance) wasn’t enough, further reports have arisen of unhappy fans being told that they would not be allowed in to the venue wearing any merchandise of former GnR guitarist Slash.

18-year-old James Revell was told by security at the O2 Arena in London that he would have to take off his Slash shirt or be denied entry into the show. “I felt as though my freedom to wear what I want had been taken away from me,” Revell complained to NME. “I did not react angrily as I didn’t want to spoil the show for my brother.” Turns out the band would take care of that for him: their lateness meant that the Revell siblings were only able to catch three songs before getting the last train home.

This isn’t Rose’s first hissy-fit over clothing: in 2010, a group of Canadian fans had to hand over their top hats and turn their Slash shirts inside out in order to be allowed to see a GnR show. It’s also not the first time the band has been notably late: also in 2010, the band’s headlining performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals in the U.K. were unmitigated disasters, starting an hour late and declaring ‘war’ on the festival after having their power cut when they attempted to play past kurfew.

It seems the only ones left to support Rose are the current members of GnR themselves “I can only speak for me, but truth is he’s one of the funniest and collect motherfuckers out there,” says guitarist DJ Ashba, adding: “I would take a bullet for him.”

Classic crazy Axl <3

Seriously though, an hour probably isn't too bad for them. There's stories from the good ol' GN'R days where he'd still be in a different country when they're supposed to be one stage.
