Black Keys apologise toNickelback, kinda

The Black Keys’ drummer Patrick Carney used a cover story in January’s Rolling Stone to claim that “Rock & roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world.”

As he blew cigarette smoke out the window of his rented East Village loft, Carney railed against the current state of rock music telling Rolling Stone: “I don’t like to see it fucking ruined and spoon-fed down our throats in this watered-down, post-grunge crap, horrendous shit. When people start lumping us into that kind of shit, it’s like, ‘Fuck you,’ honestly.”

Now, MTV News Canada (perhaps hurt by the suggestion that Canada is responsible to inflicting Nickelback upon the world) has asked Carney if he’d call himself a music snob. The drummer dismissed that suggestion, explaining that he’s simply “not a fan of bad music”. Carney says that no one he knows owns a Nickelback record and that the band “makes me embarrassed to be on earth, they actually make me want to take a spaceship away… but I don’t want to single them out. There’s much worse bands than Nickleback, maybe.”

The Black Keys will hopefully be here either in October or for Big Day Out. Hopefully Nickelback will never return.

Lol, what an "apology". :D

Ahahahah. And of course the end:

"(...)but I don’t want to single them out. There’s much worse bands than Nickleback, maybe.”
Funny guy, and frankly I don't see him apologizing. Cool, given the circumstances. :p
