Bloc Party to reunite inSeptember

Bloc Party will end their hiatus and reconvene in September to work on new material, says guitarist Russell Lissack.
The band last played live in 2009, with frontman Kele Okereke releasing a solo album, Lissack touring with Ash and bassist Gordon Moakes working with his hardcore band Young Legionnaire in the ‘downtime’.
At Christmas the band posted a festive group photo on their official Twitter site, prompting speculation that the band would soon reunite and the announcement last week that Lissack had left Ash’s touring lineup seemed to suggest that a reformation was imminent.
Lissack has now revealed to NME that he and Kele are already working on new Bloc Party “together and separately” and that the band will get together after “the festivals are over, because people have commitments during the summer, but we’re going to get back properly in September and sit in a rehearsal studio to work on new band material.”
