Metallica don’t regret suingNapster

In an interview with the Sonisphere festival, where Metallica recently shared a stage with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax for the first time, Lars Ulrich was asked if with hindsight he would have handled the Napstar issue differently.

“I would have woken myself up from the nightmare quicker,” Ulrich explained. “I think if anything we were just caught off guard by how passionate people were about this whole internet phenomenon at the time and it kind of blind-sided us, but we stood our ground and stuck with our principles and a lot of people now are patting us on the back and saying how right we were.”

“Certainly, it was an awkward time as we’d always been the good guys and suddenly there were people who didn’t think we were the good guys and it was an unusual situation for us to be in,” Ulrich admitted, but ultimately he claims: “I don’t regret any of it.”

"and a lot of people now are patting us on the back and saying how right we were.” - obviously severe mental damage has caused Lars and the band to have fervent hallucinations.

He's strangely good in Get Him To the Greek... maybe because he hardly speaks.

Sometimes, just sometimes, I regret buying Metallica. This is one of those times.

of course they won't regret suing a company for monetary benefit.

it's like how the rolling stones won't regret suing the verve for sampling something they didn't play for 'longer than they should have'

@ arfy - have you ever met lars ? i have met all of them on several occassions, and to tell you the truth, he is one of the nicest, down to earth people you are ever likely to meet. i could say you were a dick, but wouldn't be fair as i have never met you.......

@ andyledhead...... time and time again lars has said that they never did it for monetary benefit, what they would have made out of this action would be worth nothing in the whole context of what the are worth..... they did it to make a point, not to make more money..... get all the facts first before making such stupid comments.....
