Mike West and Katie Euliss’s sound was hewn in the 9th Ward of New Orleans. With a sawmill banjo and gutbucket bass, they knew they were meant for each other and sealed it with a shotgun marriage and a honeymoon spent in truckstops and Wafflehouses on every interstate of the USA.
Seeing their street on the front page of the New York times, and noting that it was under eight feet of Mississipi floodwater, they relocated their ever expanding family to Lawrence, Kansas, trading hurricanes for tornadoes.
As Mike said, they made like Dorothy and headed for OZ…. So here they are on their third trip to Australia with a whole ton’o’new tunes (and another addition to their family in tow).
Yes folks Truckstop Honeymoon is what a real traveling band is about; you want authenticity? You want a helluva good time? Come down to the Front on the 17th, and here it is.
