Description:

TAME IMPALA ANNOUNCE
NATIONAL ‘SUNDOWN SYNDROME’ TOUR

Beholders of the ancient key that unlocks the gateway to good old-fashioned high times, Tame Impala will trip the light fantastic around Australia on their national + regional ‘Sundown Syndrome’ Tour throughout September and October.

The ‘Sundown Syndrome’ Tour will be the bands first headline outing since their EP tour in March, and sees them stop at almost every nook and cranny our scorched piece of earth has to offer.

‘Sundown Syndrome’ is a hypnotic, melancholic daydream of a new Tame Impala track to be released this week exclusively on Itunes from today & on collector 7" vinyl from Jul 31. The band recorded the single in London at Toe Rag studios with Liam Watson in the midst of their European tour earlier this year. The release comes bundled with a remix by local desert shifters Canyons, as well as Tame Impala’s reinterpretation of 90’s club hit ‘Remember Me’ by Blue Boy.

Whilst this 20 plus date tour is ahead of them, Tame Impala are currently in a different place entirely, geographically and metaphysically. The Perth cavaliers are currently in a large structure that resembles something between a mansion, a treehouse and a shed, in Indidup, about 1 hour from Margaret River. They’ve been holed up there for a month, with another month to go, putting together the pieces of what’s to be the debut Tame Impala record due out in early 2010.

Joining Tame Impala on the bus will be Sydney wunderkind Jonathan Boulet. Having enjoyed some quality airtime from the Triple J & Alternate stations with his demo ‘A Community Service Announcement’, Boulet will bring his own brand anthemic folk-pop born out of a world of endless campfires and tribal jam sessions to assure hands in the air and feet dancing all night long.
