The 10-track album delivers original punk and blues based rock with impertinent lyrics and sinister tales of decay and redemption composed by MJ HallThe Album was recorded in Melbourne and New York and produced by Brian Hooper (The Beasts of Bourbon; The Surrealists). The New York sessions were engineered and mixed by Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Herbie Hancock) and the album was mastered by Howie Weinberg (NYC).
Songs for the Man features guest performances from Spencer P Jones and backing by The Sinners: Dee Pop (Gun Club; Bush Tetras), Skeleton Boy and Kristian Brenchley (Woman), Tim O’Shannassy (The Paradise Motel) & Katie Dxon (Ripe, Moondriven).
MJ Halloran is the man behind “Songs for the Man” and has recently played shows in New York with Jerry Teal and Chicken Snake (Chrome Cranks) and Lubricated Goat, and will be playing shows in Europe during September and Melbourne throughout October/November.
