Having never been afraid to challenge the paradigms of traditionally male roles in society, Kym Campbell has boldly carved out a unique niche as a female musician in the acoustic, surf and reggae genres. Campbell has sometimes been described as the female Jack Johnson, writing and performing earthy stripped back music, peppered with acoustic guitar, ukulele and harmonica. However, the accelerating rate at which she is attracting fans, young and old has been put down to her distinctive sound that tip toes around the fresh edges of the well worn path of her genres.
2010 has seen Campbell teaming up with a Melbourne based record label to record and release her second EP, ‘Preview’, nationally in Australia. Campbell has remained constantly on the road, promoting the EP and with one national tour already under her belt for this year, Campbell, now begins a second national tour, hitting all major metropolitan areas and capital cities in Australia.
