Mach Pelican

Japanese punk rock funsters Mach Pelican will say sayonara to fans this month when they perform their final Aussie shows. The band have decided to disband – citing personal and ‘immigration’ issues as the cause.

Many Australian music lovers have become firm fans of the Mach Pelican sound, embracing the Japanese rockers as locals ever since the trio moved from Japan to Perth in 1996 to study English and formed a band shortly after.

The lads moved to Melbourne shortly after that and the live music scene happily embraced these cheeky Japanese punks whose musical gods are the Ramones.

In the past decade Mach Pelican have toured tirelessly around Australia – clocking up 790 shows and three studio releases.
