What can we say?
Itâ€Ââ„¢s been a fine 7 solid years from us UG folk, and we just ainâ€Ââ„¢t lettinâ€Ââ„¢ up. UG Beats is the night youâ€Ââ„¢ve heard darn well every form of music, from such classic genrefication as dolphin jungle, swingcore, IDM, post nu-rock, progressive breaks, newbeat, Italo disco, to, you know, more headsensical things like, hip hop, rock, indie, and drum nâ€Ââ„¢ bass.
In order to celebrate this wonderful diversity, weâ€Ââ„¢ve decided to invite quite a few of our friends along, friends who throughout the years have held it down on the UG wheels of steel and given us their own dose of the musical rainbow. Friends such as:
V.A.N.C.E, he of Aston Shuffle fame, having spent recent time annihilating all sorts of clubs and the like through Europe, and more particularly of note, Ibiza. Weâ€Ââ„¢ve seen Mr. Musgrove grow from a young and keen teenager to the destructive force of awesome he is in 2009.
MARKY usually sits at home most weekends, wishing for days yore and past (with such luminaries as Phil Jones and that Welshman Derek) to return. Rather than rocking turntables at legendary Heaven and Sailâ€Ââ„¢s and UC Bar, heâ€Ââ„¢s now one of the key folk behind Corinbank. We flt it necessary to bring him out again, music intact. Youâ€Ââ„¢ll dig it.
PEEKZ has been stepping it up lately, winning choice support spots and competitions (taking out the coveted Pang! DJ comp a few weeks back). Just EPIC, really. Like, perpetually EPIC and dope (plus I donâ€Ââ„¢t know many trance/ prog DJs who always packs some Dirtstyle with him, so he automatically wins).
Heâ€Ââ„¢s been a radio show type for what seems like forever, and heâ€Ââ„¢s a human being that can not only match myself on the music game, but raise the stakes and then some. EVIL CHRIS, maniacal plotter of musical ingenuity.
Uplifting and spacious is what comes to mind when I consider the young man named GABRIEL GILMOUR. Hitting it up lately with both the Exposed and Llik Llik Llik crew, Gabe is quickly becoming a favourite with the UG louts as well. I reckon itâ€Ââ„¢s because of his lovely smile, and fearless approach to drinking.
When heâ€Ââ„¢s not postulating Rodenberrian theories, ROOKIE ONE proudly flies a flag of dope melodic drum n bass (think Hospital Records). Smooth, ill selections, plus The Force is strong with this one.
ESCHA is one of those Canberra godfather types, having seen many parties come and go, and being plenty to do with many of those parties, clubs, and whatnot. Iâ€Ââ„¢m not sure if weâ€Ââ„¢re getting Escha (the dnb guy) or ALEC WOOD (the house music guy), but Iâ€Ââ„¢m ready either way.

Dâ€Ââ„¢OPUS* = good. Very good. Party happy fun times good.
Then thereâ€Ââ„¢s MISS UNIVERSE and her all around sexiness, JEMIST with his â€ÂÅ“he could be black, probably not†attitude, PORNSTYLUS on turntables and not the uke, DFP on timecode and not Team Fortress, NOT YOU with music and not codeine.
