Hailing from Melbourne, independent labels Phonoscope Productions and Herstory Records have teamed up to present Fire In Our Bellies – an acoustic tour of seven exceptional original artists – Nira Quinn, Emmy Frazer, Andrew J. Shepherd, Liminal, Hurb Jephasun, Corinna Jane and Sarah Eida.
Performing in a special acoustic format, this passionate group of artists aims to show that music does not have to be relegated to mere background noise – that it can lift our spirits, and provide depth and meaning to our lives. The concerts will feature collaborations between the artists, some interpretations of well-loved tunes, and rousing finales with all of the performers onstage.
The tour headliner is singer/songwriter Sarah Eida, who has just released her second EP, Trophie Girl. Sarah creates a storm with her sultry, breathtaking voice and bold guitar-work. Sarah has drawn comparisons with Tori Amos and Alannis Morrisette, and her feisty indie rock/folk songs are formed with a pop sensibility. Sarah has previously toured Adelaide and gigged extensively in Melbourne over the past 8 years, supporting acts of the calibre of Monique Brumby and ex-Bachelor Girl Tania Doko. Sarah has gained national and international airplay and media coverage, particularly in Europe and LA.
The Fire In Our Bellies crew hit Adelaide’s famous Exeter Hotel on Saturday night, the 4th of July, for an intense, rocking show featuring all of the performers. Entry is free.
