For just another suburban guy, Bob Evans has been doing pretty damn well over the last 12 months. The alter ego of Jebediah frontman Kevin Mitchell has proved so popular with the punters that the accolades have been dropping like overripe fruit.
From a J Award nomination to AMP nominee, Evans’ Suburban Songbook has been embraced by the public and critics alike. The album scored two songs in the triple j Hottest 100 and Evans received the nod as Best Male artist from Rolling Stone’s Annual Readers Poll, (beat that JT!).
With so much love in the air it’s little wonder that Evans has decided its time to take the plunge into the OS market, but before heads to the US he’s packing the Tarago one last time for an extensive run of dates, playing his first headline shows since 2006 and visiting some regions he’s never played before.
The Sadness and Whiskey Tour will coincide with the release of the song of the same name at radio, as well as a very special deluxe version of Suburban Songbook which will be instore for the start of the tour.
