The Guild League is launching their third album Speak Up on Sunday 12 October at 3.30pm at the Northcote Social Club. Entry is $12/$15 or $25 with a CD (at the door only).
Led by Tali White, vocalist from The Lucksmiths, The Guild League’s music is an exciting mix of brass filled pop, wonderful vocal textures and lyrical wit and beauty. If the first albume Private Transport (2002) is about travel and love, the second, Inner North (2004) about home, Speak Up is about finding your voice. From the driving anger of the brass led ‘Brains’, through to the spare and beautiful ‘Limited Express’, Speak Up talks to us with defiant optimism about the world as it is today, and how it could be, always remembering that we should ‘not get too hard to impress’.
The band is releasing Speak Up through the US – based Matinee Records.
Speak Up will be available through itunes or Matinee Records website from 12 October
