Triple J Unearthed winning singer songwriter Abbie Cardwell is hitting the road in her van Lady Luck for her By Hook Or By Crook East Coast Spring Tour throughout Oct/Nov ‘08.
Country Hall of Fame inductee Roger Cardwell gained much respect for his influence on Australian Country music with his live TV show in the 60’s but his daughter Abbie Cardwell with her original alt-country-folk-roots music is proving to be earning equal respect in her own right.
Her latest album By Hook Or By Crook was mixed by none other than Nick Didia (Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against The Machine) in the USA which quickly got the attention of a new American record label.
Cardwell signed the contract, sold all her posessions and was poised to ship out….until the label had a financial collapse just days before her departure!!!
True to her new album title Cardwell was determined to turn things around and now her surname should probably be renamed ‘Car-Dweller’ as she now calls her trusty van Lady-Luck ‘home’ and devotes herself to touring Australia and living her dream….By Hook Or By Crook!
