Initially breaking through when electroclash was the hot topic in dance music, Ladytron have managed to live on and remain relevant long after the hype machine chewed up and spat out the ill-fated genre. This is their first ever live Australian tour.
They’ve been compared to groups as diverse as Air, Stereolab and My Bloody Valentine, and having visited Australia for a DJ tour in the past, this will be their debut journey down under with the full live band in tow.
‘Velocifero’ sees the band break away from the constraints of a major record label, and was self-produced with help from Vicarious Bliss (of uber-cool French label Ed Banger) and Alessandro Cortini (of industrial rock-gods Nine Inch Nails).
