Howe Gelb, the creative force behind the extended family that has comprised Giant Sand over the years, speaks of happy accidents and musical auras that arise from Giant Sand’s new album provisions.
Cinematic Americana at its most aching, an album of tremolo soaked guitars and moody piano, it was recorded partly in Tucson and Denmark and features talented friends such as Neko Case, M. Ward and Isobell Campbell.
Howe Gelb returns to Australia in 2008 to continue on his musical journey, started in the late 70’s, with an amassed catalogue of 40+ albums under the monikers of Giant Sand, OP8, The Band Of Blacky Ranchette, Arizona Amp and Alternator and of course, Howe Gelb.
