Having already conducted two extremely successful tours in support of their number one album ‘Breed Obsession’, Gyroscope will take to the road throughout August and September to deliver a 36 date national tour. The Australia tour celebrates the release of the bands third single, fittingly titled ‘Australia’ and is the largest tour ever undertaken by the band. Kicking off at Splendour in the Grass they’ll do a lap of the map, taking in major cities, regional towns, and suburbia along the way.
With a fresh approach, this talented four piece who’ve been together since school, have somewhat re-invented themselves introducing a more eclectic sound. It’s been a healthy start with ‘Snakeskin’, the first single from ‘Breed Obsession’, debuting at number 30 on the ARIA national album chart and taking out the number 16 spot on Triple j’s hottest 100. The track is also currently featured in all Network Ten promotions for the AFL season.
Released on Saturday July 12, Gyroscope’s new single ‘Australia’ delves deeper into the band’s pop attributes delivering a poignant tuneful track which draws you in with its acoustic opening and takes you on a melodic ride as its marching-band beat and lush strings build to its magic crescendo. ‘Australia’ is testimony to a young band willing to challenge themselves and with this track they’ve superbly crafted an anthemic major crossover hit which has already been embraced widely by radio around the country.
Packed with passion, commitment, and sincere dedication to their art, Gyroscope are currently the hottest export from the West. They’re completely focused and ready to deliver powered pop-rock sets for fans as they make their way around the nation.
It’s with great pleasure we announce SHIHAD as special guests for the Australia tour, they compliment one of the great bills to be seen in Australia this year with the announcement they are to tour almost everywhere with Gyroscope. Shihad return in splendid fashion with their new album ‘Beautiful Machine’. Spawning the glorious radio singles ‘One Will Hear The Other’ and ‘Vampires’, along with signature heavy groove laden numbers ‘Chameleon’, ‘Rule The World’, and the punk leanings of ‘Count It Up’, ‘Beautiful Machine’ again demonstrates Shihad as masters of reinvention.
Add Sugar Army, one of the most exhilarating new young bands to come out of WA for sometime, to the mix and they’ll certainly complete what will be one serious rockin’ ride on the Australia tour!
