Secret Sounds is pleased to announce Tokyo Police Club will hit Australian shores for the first time next month on a whirlwind East Coast tour. The Canadian foursome will be joined on the bill by very special guests, Brisbane’s Yves Klein Blue.
Tokyo Police Club’s debut full-length album Elephant Shell has been exceeding expectations beyond the success of their previous mini-album A Lesson In Crime. Elephant Shell reached No. 1 on the US Billboard charts for both Top New Artist and Alternative Artist. The album has been well received by MTV, being featured on Discover and Download, TRL First Look, and Big Ten. The band has also made their US TV debut with a recent appearance on the David Letterman show.
Support act Yves Klein Blue hit the headlines when their debut EP, Draw Attention To Themselves did just that with Rolling Stone and Jmag touting them as a ‘band to watch’ in 2008. They have certainly been living up to that, with sold out launch shows, tours with VHS or Beta, Stereophonics, and the forthcoming co-headline tour with The John Steel Singers.
