For many months the masses have been mumbling names under their breath, trawling the internet for clues, and making ever so bold presumptions – but finally the list is in! The complete line-up for Splendour in the Grass 2008 is here, and boy are we in for a wondrous weekend of musical mayhem.
Heading up the bill will be the manic godfathers of post punk Devo, who we can only hope come clad in flower pots hats intent on confusing and entertaining all. Also heading along to mesmerise the muddy crowds are the dolorously avant-garde Icelandic wonders Sigur Ros.
The internationals don’t stop there, though. UK juggernauts The Music, will be hitting the shores of Byron to the pleasure of all who have been awaiting their return, along with Vampire Weekend, The Fratellis and The Wombats.
Not to be out done by the out-of-towners, there’s also one hell of a local contingent doing Bryron Bay this year, as Wolfmother make their triumphant return to the stage after a long hiatus. Stomping proudly on-stage next to them will be The Living End, who are set to flash the wares from their highly anticipated new album. And, after their killer secret set at Splendour 2006, The Vines will be back to prove they can do it all again and then some.
