‘The Modfather’ himself Paul Weller is making his long-belated return to our shores this August on the back of new album 22 Dreams.
Weller’s illustrious résumé began in 1977 as lead singer of The Jam, a band that went on to set the template for a succession of imitators. His next incarnation was as part of the Style Council, before he broke away in 1989 to begin a prolific solo career. He’s released a new long player every couple of years since 1992, culminating in the forthcoming 22 Dreams.
A bona-fide icon in his home country, Weller’s last Australian tour was over 20 years ago. The anticipation is sure to be high for this one.
