they held auditions here earlier this year. i watched the audition show and i really really liked that guy from Brisbane who worked in the kitchen at the Tivoli, but he didn't get in =(

Re: song selection, I always wonder why they put 3 or 4 shithouse tunes in every week, then tell the performers "I wouldn't have chosen that song if I was auditioning for this band." Well, tell the producers that you fuck mongers!

I think they should be allowed to sing whatever song they want, cover or original, every week.

P.S. I finally watched Some Kind Of Monster over the weekend, and I must say, sucked in Jason you fuckin tool. Sure you would leave arguably the greatest heavy metal band ever to end up on a show like this (not that I'm knockin the show, but think about it....). What a loser!

I wasn't a big fan Detective, to be honest, I didn't get the whole way through it, because there seemed to be too much whinging out of the band when I saw the 15 minutes of it a while ago.

It's okay. A bit long winded though. I've never been a huge fan before either so I had no vested interest in its quality.

I will say that by the end of the movie I had an overwhelming compulsion to kick both Lars and James skwa in the nuts, Lars for being arguably the biggest douche in the universe (sorry John Edward) and James for being your typical, over-possesive frontman who thinks he's so shit hot the world's, and the band's future, lies in his hands.

He'd have to be one of the male favourites though - Lukas' doing Celebrity Skin was an embarrassment to all involved, and Toby seems to be losing interest.

Yeah, it wasn't that great. He's gone backwards since the start of the competition.... either that or he's stayed the same while everyone else is getting better.

This week they had to write lyrics for a ready made Supernova tune. We only got to hear bits and pieces in last nights show but most of them did pretty well, except Dilana surprisingly. Her lyrics were poo. I don't know whether that's all we get to see though, as they then got their song choices for tonights show.....

Dilana's doing some song by The Who I think, with Gilby on guitar. Lukas is gonna try and pull off Creep to showcase his softer side. Brave choice I reckons.

P.S. I heard the best line ever on Rockstar last night. Lukas said something like "Songs that you overthink tend to come out overthought." ha ha. That's not make-up. He's just drug fucked. ha ha

I don't think all of them can play but it would appear that at least a few have some proficiency in that regard.

I thought Magni was by far the best performer last night. Lukas got a wrap for his but I didn't think it was that good personally. His voice was shaky in parts and he murdered the notes in falsetto for mine. He's got uber stage presence though. I didn't think it was terrible, but it wasn't as good as they gave him credit for.

Ryan was the only other performer to stand out for me. I don't think he can win up against Lukas and Dilana (I still reckon one of those two will win) but he's "bringin' it" as they seem so fond of saying.

That and dope.

i LOVED Toby's performance last night though, it was fucking awesome! but the megaphone did kind of ruin it.
Magni was really good too, i like him. and Josh and Jill sucked yet again, i can't stand those two. Jill looked like fucking Christina Argulera and Josh can't sing for absolute shit his voice is horrible!! the only time i liked him was last week when he did Sublime.

so my current hit list on the show is: Josh, Jill, Patrica and Zayra.
faves are: Storm, Magni and Dilana.

i just asked my friend on myspace if he watched the show, and here's what he replied:

I don't think nice has anything to do with getting in a band with Tommy Lee, but I thought that last night as well. yeah they seem a little scary. i felt guilty going on there and stealing all their stuff without contributing though cos i hate lurkers. needless to say i won't be posting again unless it's to request something.

and as much of a freak as Zayra was, i can't stop listening to Not An Addict (from one of the eliminations). that was the only song of hers i downloaded but it one of the best! my other faves so far are Solsbury Hill (Toby), Santeria (Josh), Bittersweet Symphony (Lukas), Dolphin's Cry (Magni), Burning Down The House (Toby) and In The Air Tonight (Ryan).

patrice - still don't like her, her song would be okay if someone else sang it. supernova were right it was too poppy for them.
magni - good but no one can touch that song
ryan - good!
dilana - boring
toby - eww the no shirt was awkward
storm - not bad, i don't really know the song
lukas - omg wtf was he thinking!?! that could have been sooo good but he just stumbled around on stage like a drunk high school girl. that was sooo terrible, i can't believe supernova actually liked it! i've never been so mad at the tv before!

I had rehearsal on Wednesday night so only got to see the performances last night.

Patrice sucked. Her song had potential but thank Christ she's gone! She had to go. Too many visits to the bottom 3. It's obvious the rest of the world hates her stupid, over-smiling face as much as me.

Ryan's original is my new favourite song. I thought by throwing the guitar literally straight after Dave told someone to break something before the series was out, was a bit shit though. Not as climactic and all that jazz.

Magni did well. Agreed, you can't really do that song justice, but I thought he particulalrly sung the high and heavy parts well. He's still in with a chance for mine though he's been in the bottom 3 a few times now....

Toby did a'ight. I don't know why they called it his arrangement though. Jordace (sic?) sung it exactly the same last series. Like the Gilbster said though, it was an awesome performance.

I agree 100% with what Magni said about Dilana in last nights episode. They're changing it up every week and she's staying exactly the same. I've no doubt she lost a few fans last night. I said it as soon as they showed them doing those interviews. And it's not that she's too honest, she's just a c**t IMO. A c**t who has not even a moments hesitation in bagging out other people. That said she did the song well but she always does. That's the point. Since the first night she's shown nothing new or exciting.

Storm would be alright if you didn't have to look at her face. And not 'cause I think she's ugly. She's alright. She just pulls weird facials and dances a bit funny. Not in a cool way either. She can't win.

Lukas is, well, Lukas. I'll say this though; ever since Ryan has been smacking the arse off everything he touches (which I've worked out all started with Losing My Religion), I've found myself drifitng out of the Lukas camp. Plus, he does seem like a bit of a tool.

It wasn't just you Brody - I actually don't think either of them have been great tracks, certainly not memorable. I much preferred Ryan's song over the Supernova track..... its almost enough to make you think that it would be better to NOT win for people like Ryan who have the talent to go solo.

Dilana is the perfect fit for this band though. I personally don't think she's the best there, not by a long shot, but she has the attitude, ego and star power to make it work. Plus I can't see her as a solo artist - she needs the high profile dudes to catapult her into frontwoman status. I can easily see Storm or Ryan or Lukas out the front of their own act - not so Dilana.
