One word Nargy.
Downloads. You should at least check out Rebel Yell by Lukas. I found a copy on You Tube. I'd post the link but I'm lazy. Just go to You Tube and do a search for Lukas Rossi..... |

Now, i'm not saying the dude who got the arse's performance was outstanding by any means, but how the hell did that stupid little latino chick not get kicked out? she basically admitted to not knowing who metallica are, and was so unimaginative as to butcher the same song 2 nights in a row to save herself?
apparently, implying that you will give sexual favours to ageing rockers is all it takes.... |

I watched the show for the first time last night, and I was absolutely STUNNED by the Puerto Rican chick... I wasn't aware that getting onto this show actually required no talent at all.
I understand her 'imaginative' take on the performance by throwing herself around the stage like a woman possessed - but now that I know she did the same song twice, you'd definitely have to think the second time would be better !!???!! Please get her OFF!!! BTW... I think I'm now hooked... |

I'll stop fuckin watchin the shit if she doesn't go next. Remember in the first episode when Jason asked her to marry him? WTF was that about? I reckon they're keeping the chickies in long enough for Tommy to have a go at baggin' 'em....

That poor Chris dude who got the arse man.... I'd be ready to neck up if I got beaten by that horror! WTF do those dudes hear when she sings? 'Cause it ain't what the rest of us are hearing. If anything, that Chris dude had the potential to improve. She's got nothin!

I think it's a case of these 'reality type' programs spotting a head case that's gonna get everyone riled up so much that they have to watch the show - and keeping her on until the dying episodes... tragic, but it works for ratings.

on another note, am i the only one who thinks that the guy who's going to win (i can't remember his name, help me out 'brody'...) looks a bit like Dan from MM9? |

Dan's the one on the far right. he's the singer. they kind of have a similar look, but they also have similar stage persona's, which probably doesn't really come accross in the picture...

i liked Magni last week, and i don't mind the aussie dude or a couple of others. the thing that bothers me is that they put an equal number of girls and guys, when we all know that the chances of them picking a girl as their singer are pretty slim. plus i was expecting all these people to blow me away and none really have yet, you would think that if they held auditions in god knows how many countries that there would have been some people on there who are absolutely incredible. that blonde girl who did Hole last week looks like that blonde lady with the curly hair who used to be on Ally McBeal and is in the movie Go (can't remember her name).

am i the only one who found tonights episode totally boring?? Dilana was the only one who did a half decent performance, even if i'm not a fan of her voice, the rest of them were totally average.
Dana should be singing in a church or something, she totally doesn't fit the show. half the guys on there can't sing at all, Zayra is retarded, and it seemed like the band were cheering all the people who sucked. My faves are Storm, Jenny, Magni, Toby and Dilana. the rest pretty much suck. oh yeah, and Jenny is a ND fan, three weeks in a row i've seen her wearing Gwen-ish outfits. in a good way though, not an annoying rip off way aka Jill as Courtney last week.

I thought there was some good performances. African chicky doing Zombie gave me fuckin chills man. She da bomb. Or "dope" as Dave Navarro might say. She just goes all out every time she's up there and never fails to impress.
I thought Lukas did well with that Stones track. Tommy obviously digs him. Quote:
On a side note, I thought that Zayra chicky redeemed herself well. I don't think she's right for the band still, but she somehow found the pitch she forgot to bring to the first two rounds and did a pretty good job IMO. I half retract my scathing attack on her which can be found somewhere in this thread. |

oh god i forgot all about the train wreck that was Come As You Are - god it was terrible!! and i didn't think Zayra's performance did the song justice at all, someone else could have done a much better job.
i just checked out the website yesterday, there's alot on there - including voting which they don't tell you on the ads. btw has anyone else noticed that the ad telling you to vote is just someone putting on an american accent trying to sound like Brooke Burke? why bother?

Dilana rocked it. I love her and I'm glad the panel love her too. Lukas was quite good too, he had the Mick Jagger attitude goin' on! Magni was better last night than his other performances. Dana, Jenny and Josh were all crap IMO. Hope one of them leaves tonighta...

3 people have been kicked off out of 15, so about 12 (though there's a few episodes per week. One based on them choosing their songs for that week, another for performing said songs, and another to send someone home.)
So make that 36 at a rough guesstimate |

Rockstar kicks over Idol. Idol is for tenny bopper girls and record execs to bat over. Rockstar at least has some talent and the quality of the final guys and gals is so much better than Idol's winners.

I'm glad Jenny went. She didn't have a powerful enough voice to front a rock band. I honestly don't understand how Zayra is still in. She is beyond terrible. |

I saw a sign at a Janes show in Doncaster that said "Dave Navarro Is God". I thought that did him a disservice. He's way better than that.

I've been watching bit's and pieces of the show when i go to the gym.
There's definitely a "sellout" smell about Supernova, when the band visited the house and played them some music demo's. Gilbey was saying they have metal backgrounds but this band wanted to have "catchy tunes". I'm sure they'll fit in nicely with the pop/rock crowd and sell heaps of CD's , no matter who is picked. I can't see them picking a woman, coz they have shown their disdain for the bitchiness that's goin on, but once again like Big Brother, conflict wins ratings. The song selection by the amateur artists is atrocious... are the contestants not allowed to submit their own compositions? Or is it the producers that gives them certain songs to cover ? I for one dont buy it, Lee , Newstead & Clarke must be short of money, or their careers haven't risen to the heights of the former bands they were in . I will keep watching when i can, but i wont be sucked into buying their stuff when it's originally released.

in terms of song selection, last series there were about two episodes later on in the series when they were made to write & perform an original song, i'm not sure if later on they had a choice or not. and i'm not sure whether it's the band or the producers who give them the songs for each week, probably a bit of both. some of the songs on there have been a strange mix though, i would have expected some heavier stuff to be in there.

I do admire the band they're pretty hot. The song selection is very lightweight. I'm saying the producers are to blame for song selection det.
Nargy? It's nothing like Idol, anyone can have a go at Idol, in Rockstar, most of the punters have struggled with bands and know what it's like to starve. Some have paid their dues, and i stress some.
