I hardly think Empire of the Sun and Miami Horror playing to 2,000 people in Chicago is failing abroad.

its more so the optimism of playing a 4200 capacity venue and filling half of it. but yeah. it seems as though Empire of the Suns near 3yrs of relentless touring is finally paying off.

Big time for gigs in Brazil, it seems. Taking note for future travels: December is to Brazil what Jan/Feb is to Australia.

probably the most interesting and telling of all the lists. melbourne beats sydney in the battle for the second 'biggest' venue in the world. the O2 in London wins easy.

I doubt it, it's OAF. There isn't enough room to corner anything off.

i would assume it's a bit like the Ent Cent. the act can decide to hire it at different capacities. so it would cost a certain amount to hire it at 400 but less if you want the capacity to be at 200.

Just curious about attendance versus money made. They don't just take the attendance and do math on that do they? I recall a U2 show at ANZ in Sydney had thousands of free tickets given away to fill seats. And with that in mind, does attendance count if the people get in free?

the whole sellouts thing is a bit of a farce on Boxscore. i think they just accept whatever facts and figures the promoters give them. the revenue figures are pretty accurate and i would assume the attendance is about right as well. two nights at that stadium would've been 150 000, they got 107 000 and probably gave away 10-15 000 tickets on top of that.

Only a failure of epic proportions will stop this band getting insane-big once their second album comes out next year. Their practically the only band around right now that unites fans from both the hipster and redneck-country communities.

Was never a fan, merely stating that as a marketing opportunity they're the type of band labels love.

Now wasn't someone going to make a bot that followed every post I made with LATFH? Or are you taking care of that MAB?

Australia really doesn't appreciate My Morning Jacket enough. I was amazed how low billed they are at Bluesfest

12k people for MMJ? That's amazing. They won't even get that on their entire tour here.

Seems like a country influence in your music is basically your shortcut to success in America.

Hell, look how many copies The Decemberists sold of The King Is Dead just by throwing a little hayseed flavour in there.
This song is for the guy who keeps yelling from the balcony, and it's called "We Hate You, Please Die".

April: A$AP Ferg - May: DJ Premier/Pete Rock, YEEZUS, Lauryn Hill
June: ScHoolboy Q/Isaiah Rashad

To the disgust of most people I don't like Castaways and Cutouts that much but the rest is pure gold.

But my point was that TKiD was their "Country Record" and was also their first record to go to number one.

According to my sources they didn't make any money the year that Jay-Z headlined because over 2,000 people were stabbed to death.

Don't Glasto give quite a lot of their profits to charity and use most of the rest of the money on improving the festival grounds for next year?
February: Soundwave, Biffy Clyro, Placebo
March: QOTSA/NIN
April: Kodaline
