If this is not a fake leak, then I'm a little upset.

Blast me as much as you like...maybe I'm behind or just don't know enough music, but I'm not interested in a lot of those names, plus there's a bunch I've never heard of, so nothing has really grabbed me.

Hopefully, a few little local bands will be put on the Uncharted stage and/or the ones I don't know will turn out to be fkn brilliant!
The most I know is that Brian Jonestown Massacre is supposed to be excellent and they were once supported by a band I love very much!

I'm just a bit disappointed that there's no act that got me excited when I read the lineup.

I'll get over it though...I know I'll have a blast at Playground, no matter what!

Can you still call it a leak when it's 10 days late?

I disagree. I've never understood why anyone would buy their CDs, but live they are something else.

Having that many people on stage is incredible. Their set at Splendour 2008 was just phenomenal.

Good to see Lupe Fiasco on there.
Been way to long since he visited Australia.

Now if only we could get Lily Allen back.

Seeing her live is almost as rare as a Living End set.

One would think they have gone for cheaper headline acts, no offence, sure it can't be cheap to fly out polyphonic spree! but really, no super acts are there, but hence and affordable 4 days, its how they play it i suppose. None of my favourite acts there though, however read prior posts

Royksopp, Steve Lawler, Jaimie Lidell, Prins Thomas are some pretty decent names in terms of electronic music.

My boyfriend is happy with it, so that's one good thing. He's one of the number of people I convinced to get tickets this time round. I've been trying to tell people how awesome this festival is and have managed to get a bigger bunch of people to join me!

I'll never buy a Polyphonic Spree album but I will always make an effort to see them at a festival.

Or its possible that they hadn't added those two acts that haven't signed yet.

The site was fairly blank so they clearly hadn't added a lot of stuff.

you might be right.. coz just looking at ur screen shot again they only had 23 acts on the site... and they said they were gonna release at least another 20 acts onto the lineup on top of the 5 acts they had already announced.

Fingers crossed!

Could the organisers at least give us an update on what's happening?

I totally understand that there are reasons out there for the delay, but an update would be nice!

This is the first summer season that not one festival has got me excited...
So have decided to spend my money on great sideshow/concerts instead.
I don't care if I spend a bit more money to see all the individual shows
At least I will be entertained for the entire thing and not spend my money wasted
going to a festival to trawl through so much shit music to hear my favourite act play for 30-50 mins!
I hope these festivals lift thier game next time, BDO etc used to be sooooo good.
I don't think people even go for the music anymore.

I'll be attending these Brisbane concerts instead: Lamb, Marianne Faithfull, Chrissy Amphlett, Sia, Peaches, Scott Matthew, B52s, Tori Amos.

Shit I forgot all about Sunset Soundz, I have tix for that, it's a really great lineup LOL

I think it's more the number of festivals on the landscape than the quality of acts coming out for them.

There are many great bands touring this Summer but they are dotted amongst the many festivals. Five years ago half of the bands you wanted to see would be playing at one festival.

The next few years will show whether Australians are just suckers for Summer music festivals or whether the attraction was more for the lineups on offer.

I'm not sure why quoting that you're 37 means anything (I don't follow the whole "I'm this age, therefore that means I'm this"), but I take my 39 year old friend to gigs of bands/artists she doesn't know all the time and she loves it! A way of discovering new bands! She came to Playground last year hardly knowing any of the bands and had an AWESOME time!
It's the only festival I'd go to, no matter what the lineup because of the set up and the atmosphere. I know I'm bound to enjoy some of the sets and possibly learn of a band I didn't know about!
Cheap bands are often some of the best bands anyway!
Early tix for Playground are around $145 - 4 day festival including camping. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me!

I'm a bit with humanracin on this. As I've got older, festivals become more and more trying. The lineup really has to interest me to get me there.

Concerts are fine. I go to those all the time, but by the end of the day at a festival I am tired, have an aching back and neck, and need a comfy couch and a cold beer.
