Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows
Stones- Wild Horses
U2 - Pride (In The Name of Love)
Elvis - In the Ghetto
Madonna- Like a prayer

Oh and for all the Elvis haters - the whole 'he stole black music' thing is bullshit. It's like slagging off the Beasties for bringing so many white boys to hip-hop. Elvis played the music he grew up around and loved - it's hardly his fault if white audiences found him to be a more palatable alternative to black singers. Anyone with even a passing interest in rock music needs to read Peter Guralnick's Last Train to Memphis and Careless Love. And yeah it's sad that he's more famous for eating and sequin suits than his music among the sort of folk who only buy best of CDs.

What's with all the Like A Prayer love? Her late nineties stuff is the best.

Also, I've re-read Alex's post several times and still have no clue as to a) What possessed him to write it, or b) What it actually means.

There are a many different facets to the genre called dance.

Two to be exact.

One goes "doot doot doot deet doot doot doot deet".

And the other goes "deet doot doot deet doot".
This song is for the guy who keeps yelling from the balcony, and it's called "We Hate You, Please Die".

Poor guy. I think he'll be walking around with that butthurt for weeks.

And come on, Ray of Light owns.
Music was also quite good, but American Life onwards I can take or leave.

Pride (In the Name of Love) is polling pretty strongly for U2.

For the record, my favourite Elvis Costello songs are Oliver's Army and Good Year for the Roses.

Also, for Madonna I put my favourite song down as Like a Virgin... I actually meant Like a Prayer.
