I watched Step Brothers on DVD last night.
Only a few laughs overall, but when it WAS funny, it was REALLY funny.

I watched The Dark Knight last night, i thought it was pretty good, and i'm not a batman fan. Better than the cheesy 90's movies.

Yeah,, would've been 3x better without the sleep walking scenes.

Saw Deathproof last night, and as a sucker for anything Tarantino. I very much enjoyed it.

I do believe as much, but I only have the Tarantino half.

EDIT: It was released at the movies with 'Planet Terror' by Robert Rodriguez, but the DVDs were released separately.

They're good on their own - but great as the double bill with the fake trailers between them.

I wasn't a fan of Deathproof, too much focus on that kiwi cow stuntwoman. Planet Terror was entertaining and a bit of fun.

Slumdog Millionaire is good. I was loving it most of the time but felt it fell away towards the end and telegraphed a few plot points. The final question on millionaire was piss easy, even for a nation of curry munchers.

Yes more focus on other characters would have been appreciated.

Just got back from Slumdog Millionaire, and I had heard good things. I left bitterly disappointed. The first 15 minutes were okay, then it just got really boring.

Shame, because I love Trainspotting and 28 Days Later.

The acting was unbelievably poor, the setting was cool, but the dialogue was also awful (wasn't helped by the acting).

I saw Valkyrie last night.
T'was very good.
I was worried that I would go to see it and would just be distracted by the fact that Tom Cruise was the lead, but it surprisingly didn't bother me once.

agreed. i think it worked ok as a one off watch. the scenery was great. and the ending had me a little on the edge of my seat, but the movie as a whole would do nothing for me if i were to watch it again. the highlight scene of that movie for me was when he meets up with his brother all those years later and pictures wrestling him off that skyscraper. awesome shot. 3/5 from me. The M.I.A track was good. sounded heaps more santogold styles.

Saw Revolutionary Road last night.
Quite good.

I'm still not sure if everyone was overacting or if that's just how it was in 1955.
This song is for the guy who keeps yelling from the balcony, and it's called "We Hate You, Please Die".

Just got back from Milk.

Sean Penn was very good, but it was a bit too long to hold my attention for the entire time.

Just over 2 hours isn't too bad, I have become use to around the 2 hour mark. Benjamin Button, now that tested my bladder.

I am have been getting visions of Josh Brolin winning the best supporting actor Oscar, and the aussie media suffering a meltdown "HEATH SNUBBED". I do hope that Ledger will get the win though.

Yeah, usually over 2 hours isn't a bad thing, but the movie itself (while acted brilliantly) moved slower than I thought it could have. I know it's supposed to be a biopic somewhat, but really, its primary motive should be to entertain and I feel that it fell flat in many parts.

I can't see Brolin winning for his role, he was good, but he wasn't spectacular at all. I thought someone like Emile Hirsche was better.

Some really funny stuff in it, especially if you like Ricky Gervais and his type of self depricating humour (the office, extras etc).

Just saw the new Frank Miller flick 'The Spirit'. It was really quirky, not as visually appealing as Sin City and the story line was bit bleh, but the overall strangeness of a lot of the scenes made it a really good watch.
