Just got back from it.

Bad news for you, more action.

Good news: great load of fun.

First one is still better.

The first ep of Series2 is good, not quite as good as the best 2 eps of Series 1 (1 & 3), but that's mostly down to the ending, which I can't discuss here without spoiling, so I'll just say - I didn't like it.

Just to say, thanks for the Sherlock Holmes movie feedback everyone. I talked to a few friends who've seen it in the meantime, and they also generally think that first movie was better... Well, I'll probably see it anyway, but lower my expectations and expect nothing but fun action and Downey Jr. in his element, hopefully.

The Tree of Life

10/10

Nothing I could say would give justice to this film, Malick's love letter to the world, one of the most life affirming movies I have ever seen or will see. I could go to describe the free flowing narrative, the cinematography, the soundtrack but nothing I could say would bring in justice.

It should sweep the Oscars but will be ignored except probably for the cinematography (funnily enough just like another certain Brad Pitt film The Assassination of Jesse James, another film that should have swept the Oscars)

Can't wait to watch the 6 hour directors cut.

Sidenote, while searching for one of the two copies my Blockbuster had, I heard a blonde woman around her mid twenties squeal in excitement when she saw the wall of The Zookeeper DVDs.

Really? I am a huge fan of the movie but you think it's more worthy than No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood.

Next year's Oscars will be weak, I expect The Actors to clean up.

I absolutely loved TAOJJBTCRF, the acting, the direction and the cinematography, but No Country For Old Men pretty much crouched over it and took a massive duke.

No Country For Old Men is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Possibly my favourite movie I've ever seen.

I don't want to argue about something so subjective when we are agreeing that both films are amazing, but for me The Assassination of Jesse James simply floored my in style and substance whereas No Country just seemed like another cool Coen flick, I think I enjoyed A Serious Man more.

Also There Will Be Blood was atrocious, Daniel Day Lewis's overacting was reminiscent of Bugs Bunny in the 1950's.

Casey Affleck would have won best supporting Acting any other year. 2008 was a year the academy got it right.
The Assassination of Jesse James isn't amazing. The Cave and Ellis score is though.
I could not disagree more on There Will Be Blood, you are drunk.

Bullshit to that.
That is up there as one of my favourite Bond movies. It's got Dianna Rigg, my favourite Bond girl and Kojak as the villain. I am more of a fan of the 007 that doesn't take itself too seriously though.
Man with the Golden Gun is always my number 1.

QOS is certainly gets better with rewatching, although I always been a bit of a defender of it.

Moonraker is easily the worst Bond.

My favourites are The Man With The Golden Gun, Goldeneye, You Only Live Twice, Casino Royale and Live and Let Die.

I really love Bond ha ha.

I also rate You Only Live Twice as the best Bond theme. Followed by Diamonds Are Forever.

I can't believe there has been no mention of From Russia With Love and The Spy Who Loved Me amongst the best Bond films.

Goldfinger and On Her Majesty's Secret Service are both excellent too.

The Man With the Golden Gun probably rounds out my top 5. I like all the classics better than the Brosnan/Craig ones.

Nancy Sinatra gives me serious wood though. I liked Jack White's theme but it easily pales compared to most others.

To be honest I could have listed almost every 'classic' (Pre-Dalton) era film as my favourite. I do totally believe that Casino Royale and Goldeneye deserve to be mentioned up there with them though.

I just saw Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It was powerful and captivating but not as dark or clever as I was hoping/expecting. Also the copious amounts of product placement ticked me off. The opening sequence is awesome.

I'm not sure what I want to give it out of 5. I'm feeling around 3.65-7

I'm not sure what I want to give it out of 5. I'm feeling around 3.65-7

I wasn't aware FL had been renamed Pitchfork?

I was thinking that Ireland had the better of Australia in regards to better films but after thinking about it further. I was really wrong.

My 5 favourite Australian movies.

Romper Stomper
The Road Warrior
Animal Kingdom
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Bad Boy Bubby

I begrudgingly had to cut Two Hands and The Black Balloon. So many others were up there as well.
