Daniel Craig shits all over Roger Moore as Bond.
Moore was a fop in a dinner suit. Never believable as a hard arse.
Craig is the only one to challenge Connery, but he needs to be consistent to do this. Haven't seen the latest one but based on the first he has a chance.

Roger Moore was never trying to be a hard ass, he was a pants man and he was brilliant. He even put his dick in Grace Jones, not even Daniel Craig would have the balls to do that.

yea what napoleon said. They are playing 2 different styles of bond, Moore with more class and suave, and Craig with the whole smash and grab. To be honest there wasnt enough "womanising" compared to the old bond either, but at the moment ill accept this due to the fact bond Craig is playing is meant to be a brash fresh loose cannon, but hopefully he does show his class that most people associate with bond.

Hmmmm. Not much of a criteria there.
I find that era of Bond movie to be embarrassing.
He wasn't a pants man. He just thought he needed to be, and was never convincing that he really wanted to be with the women. Always looking over his shoulder as if he was saying "Look what I'm doing".

You are about the only one, unless you are younger than 25. I love having a laugh with a good Bond film. The Man With The Golden Gun is still my fave. The thing that changed it all was that The Bourne Identity came out and pulled Jame Bond's pants down for an utter spanking, the studio realised that "shit we aren't living in the seventies anymore let's meet the ausience of today's expectations". I have the collection and apart from Timothy Dalton and every Brosnan 007 after Goldeneye, I love them all. Except I really hate that shit fake Never Say Never Again.

Definately not under 25 and not the only one.
I have spoken with quite a number of friends and family on this. Most of us stopped watching the Bond films because of this trend.

Agree on the impact of Bourne though.

Well call me a Moore tragic. Nobody has played the role more than he has, he must have done ok to have achieved that.
I still release fluids when Bond has a brawl with that french-philipino midget and stuffs him in a suitcase. Oh and that little asian kid he boots off the boat, I just can't imagine this style ever been done again. I like that the series has taken on different guises. The new Bond direction rocks also, Casino Royale has one of the best chase scenes ever filmed.

Saw Rocknrolla and agree with all of the praise above. Toby Kebbel was great adds more notches to his acting belt after his brilliant performances in Dead Man's Shoes and Control. Mark Strong should win an Oscar one day given the right role. He has built a screen presence that might even challenge one day, well he already has I guess, in Body of Lies. I would give the points to Strong.

Just got back from Quantum of Solace and I am very disappointed where Bond is heading. I really like Daniel Craig as Bond, but god damn - Bond is supposed to be perfect, he isn't supposed to get beat up and whatnot. He is meant to be suave.

Saw Rocknrolla on the weekend and really enjoyed it. I thought it was somewhere in between Snatch and Lock Stock in goodness, with fuck all seperating them.

saw quantam of solace last night.. was it just me, or did they just kind of get bored of explaining the story half way through? i found it to get very vague towards the end. talk about a film that ends abruptly and has all the best fight scenes ages before the end (read; beginning).

Mar: Flying Lotus, We Lost The Sea, Meniscus, Caspian
May: Mish, Russian Circles, James Vincent McMorrow

I think they are trying to keep us guessing until the third film. Unfortunately the storyline fell over because of it.

Pffffft. Bond (apart from Connery) is a waste of space. I tried to watch Casino Royale on the weekend and couldnt make myself sit through the whole thing, as it is, I want the hour I spent watching that boring piece of one dimensional shit back!

The storyline in Quantum of Solace sucked compared to Casino Royale.
My friends and I all came out of the cinema looking at each other for explanations because of how vague it was... and unfortunately, none of us made complete sense of it.

Saw Quantum yesterday. Very finicky plot, will agree to that. Daniel Craig is doing a fantastic job, however, and that opening scene was fucking brilliant.

Yes, just yes!

The Expendables The plot? A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator. The cast? Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Sylvester Stallone - who is also writing and directing.

Ace Ventura Jr. Get into it, great flick

I suggest you change your diet
It could lead to high blood pressure if you fry it

I made the mistake of hiring 'St. Trinians' last night, thinking "It's got Colin Firth in it... surely he wouldn't have sunk to too much of a low level" ... WRONG
It is terrible. I watched until Russell Brand (the crazy-haired rock star in Forgetting Sarah Marshall) made an appearance, then gave in.

However I also hired 'The Black Balloon' ... that Australian film about a family with an autistic teenager. It was decent.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno was pretty boring and predictable. The Wackness was one of the better movies I have watched this year.
