Yeah I saw it awhile ago but don't remember it coming out here. Get's my vote for turd of the year so far and I would have bet a million that nothing was going to beat Speed Racer.

You can shove your Twilight up your ass. Let The Right One In is my movie of the year!

I can't say enough good things about this film. The performances from the kids were brilliant and the cinematography was outstanding considering the dominance of snow. I have never seen a film by Tomas Alfredson before but will look forward to seeing his other works. The second last scene is perfection and I hope that in the years to come it will be talked about the same way that the scene in Don't Look Now is.
If you get the chance to watch it make sure you do, because already the dick behind Cloverfield has a remake due for 2009. Better yet read the book also, you won't be disappointed.

Could somebody please explain to me how it could be possible that "Australia" could be any good at all?

I mean, what could possibily happen that would be different/interesting, say compared to Far and Away, A River Runs through It, and any other bradd pitt nicole kidman renee screwfacewegger country love story movie?

Yeah, I've heard that arguement too. It sucks (no offence to your gf). I agree, I've not liked her in anything since BMX Bandits.

I still don't get how Kidman won an Oscar.
Australia has the media here all in a frenzy but all the talk about Oscar noms is laughable. I am gonna say it will tank at the U.S box office. The fact that Oprah Winfrey gushing is considered news here makes me sad, Australians are better then that.

It's probably because Dr Cox hates him..

I dunno, my opinions rarely have valid backing.

it was only a matter of time before someone went "but he's wolverine!!! zomg!!!"

i know this is most likely not the same reason that dkos dislikes him, but can i make myself very unpopular here by saying that all in all COMIC BOOK MOVIES SUCK. xmen was shit, spiderman was shit, superman was FUCKING shit and the hulk... well yeah... you get where i'm going. i'm almost scared to watch ironman, but i've actually heard good things, so i think i'll have some faith.

No oh no. Watchmen just wait for Watchmen.
Iron Man is standard comic book fare but the arc of movies leading towards Avengers is pretty damn ballzy.

Robert Downey, Jr. was excellent in Iron Man.

Never found a reason to hate Hugh Jackman, but have two reasons to hate Baz Luhrman. Their names are Strictly Ballroom and Moulin Rouge.

it was quite good, wasn't it?

for me it goes:

lock stock - 9.5/10
snatch - 8.5/10
rocknrolla - 8 (but could go up or down based on further views)

I quite liked RockNRolla. I thought they had Johnny Quid channeling Pete Doherty quite effectively.

Am I the only one that has seen Revolver? Pretty damn sloppy but confirms my belief that Mark Strong is an actor to watch.

I thought that movie was pretty damn terrible...

Apparently there is a RockNRolla 2 in the works already...

I'll definitely go see Australia at some point, though.

Right now I'm desperate to see Quantum of Solace and Burn After Reading (it FINALLY started screening here!).

Quantum of Solace isn't as good as Casino Royale.
I found it rather disappointing apart from the action sequences (which I could usually care less for, but you've got to expect them in a bond film I guess)

As for Burn After Reading, Brad Pitt makes that movie (which really surprised me)

I was pleasantly surprised when my girlfriend got me to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall with her...I read Romantic Comedy and was put off. It was actually a little quirky, and very funny indeed.

I also watched Hot Rod last Friday night. Possibly the stupidest mots inane Comedy Ive seen recently. It was kinda Jackass (with the dude gettin axed all the time...the physical comedy element is huge, if you dont enjoy that stuff, you probably wont enjoy this) mixed with the feel of a Napoleon Dynamite type movie (eccentric characters living ordinary lives in their eccentric ways).

I pissed myself through it (may have been the relaxation cigarettes that went with it though). Would reccomend it if you want a totally mindless shitbag movie to tune out and tune in to.

I found it rather disappointing apart from the action sequences (which I could usually care less for, but you've got to expect them in a bond film I guess)

As for Burn After Reading, Brad Pitt makes that movie (which really surprised me)

The chair makes that movie.

I pissed myself through it (may have been the relaxation cigarettes that went with it though). Would reccomend it if you want a totally mindless shitbag movie to tune out and tune in to.

Fuck Hot Rod, man. What a piece of shit film.

Andy Samberg is NOT that funny.

saw quantum of solace last night, i renjoyed it, but i thought the ending was a bit meh, but im a big bond fan and i prob expected something a bit better, daniel craig is improving as a bond, now he needs to show the classy side of bond if he can, cause hes still got nothing on Connery or Moore
