Glastonbury 2011 Highlights

Mud, Music, Mystery Deaths and Kate Moss. Glastonbury sure is the Mother of all festivals and this weekend past it threw its weight around once again with sets from Beyonce, U2, Radiohead, Pulp and more – here are just a few of the highlights.

‘SECRET’ SETS

Australia gets secret sets from The Vines and Bob Log III, Glasto gets Radiohead, Pulp and Mumford and Sons.

RADIOHEAD

PULP

Pulp’s secret set-list included Razzmatazz, Disco 2000 and Common People. This is the best footage we could find, but Goddamn are we looking forward to Splendour now.

hope to see The Horrors here for Laneway. i was really impressed with their set and i think they would really suit Laneway.

While I feel bad they probably didn't make much money it was absolutely awesome seeing The Horrors play such a tiny venue when they did that BDO sideshow in Perth.

watching The Horrors i kinda feel that it would be an awesome band to be a part of. 5 great musicians playing incredible music with a "cool" yet not contrived image. travelling around the world playing small venues and festival stages to appreciative crowds while critics drool all over you. sounds like an alright life despite the unpredictable cash flow.

Laura Marling on the Pyramid stage just didn't seem right. bit like Fleet Foxes a couple of years ago.

BBC are terrible like that, don't see what the big deal is really, people wanna rewatch certain things they'll never televise again, needless and selfish IMO.

if they were removing videos they had already been posted on the bbc channel that would be understandable. but deleting stuff that can't be found elsewhere seems like such a pointless exercise.

by the way thanks for uploading the U2 set. with only a couple of songs from the last album it was awesome to watch. does anyone know the last time U2 played a festival before glastonbury? i can't imagine they've played many in the last 20 years aside from charity events.

went to glastonbury last year. the park stage is where they have secret guests slotted in the timetable,so we took a punt & did a mission walk on the friday & caught thom yorke. wow he was great...i bet radiohead & pulp as secret guests would of been just as fine !!

U2 have never played glasto before, Eavis has tried a heap of times to sign them but they have always been turned down till last year

yeah Coldplay set was really good. I was impressed. ABC should show Splendour sets live on TV - the BBC coverage is superb.

Roskilde in 1982 springs to mind but there might be something sooner.

Surely a highlight would be that Tory dying in the bogs over snorting too much rack.

They're denying it was suicide due to several poor political leaks but if anything, this proves that his policies really had gone down the toilet.

the Chem Bros took a rather nasty leak all over the Coldplay set (quite literally if you watch the opening moments of the coldplay show)

and i think part of the reason why the BBC show glastonbury is because the event is on their anti-siphoning list meaning it is considered of national importance and must be broadcast to the public. something along those lines.
